The app provides many preset custom sizes and allows you to alter the file format. PIXresizer supports BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG and TIFF files. The largest file size is the BMP file format so if you want a smaller file size choose one of the other compressed options.

The interface takes a minimalist approach and is not especially pretty to look at. However, if you want a stable application that does exactly what it says it will, PIXresizer is the application for you. You can work with single files or you can place several files into a folder to create a batch process. One nice feature about this program is that if you do choose to use the batch file option, you can see a preview of the files in the folder. If your picture editing programs provide such a wide variety features with a simple and easy-to-use design. The software is perfect for those that work in design and photography. It also accommodates anyone looking to retouch and optimize photos or convert images into other formats.

After launching the program you'll see two tabs. The first tab allows you to work with a single file and the second tab allows you to work in bulk. When you work with a single file you can load the picture into the program select the size from the list of preset options. You can also choose a custom size and input dimensions. Once you select the size you can select the file format and choose whether to save the EXIF data. The program also allows users to rotate the image, output as grayscale, and maintain the aspect ratio when inputting accustom size. Once you're ready to save your image just select the "Save Picture" button and you're ready to go. When working with multiple files, you have the same basic options, however there is also an option to enlarge the picture if needed.

For those that don't want to mess with various settings, you can use the "Apply Recommended" option to apply a list of recommended settings to the photo. This application provides a valuable resource to those that work with pictures on a regular basis and want to save time with basic formatting functions.
